High Vitamin D Reduces Cancer Risk in Women

It was found that people with high vitamin D levels had a lower risk of developing colon cancer.

Researchers from more than 20 institutions, including Harvard University, Chan School of Public Health, National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society, combined their studies on 12 thousand people from the USA, Europe and Asia.

The study found that the optimal level of vitamin D for preventing colon cancer is more than the recommended 600 units per day.

Accordingly, it was found that people whose vitamin D levels were above the recommended concentration were 22 percent less likely to develop colon cancer.

It is not yet known which level is the optimal level.
