25th Istanbul Jazz Festival starts tomorrow

Legendary names such as Nick Cave, Robert Plant, Benjamin Clementine, Melody Gardot, Caro Emerald, Dave Holland, Zakir Hussain are meeting with music lovers in Istanbul.

Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, the Istanbul Jazz Festival will host more than 250 local and foreign artists in 27 venues between June 26 and July 17.

The opening of the festival will begin with a Turkish Jazz concert for generations in its 25th year.

The most important soloists and ensembles of the Turkish jazz scene will take the stage accompanied by the TRT Light Music and Jazz Orchestra, led by Kamil Özler. At the night, the Lifetime Achievement Award, which has been given to jazz masters since 2002, will be presented to double bass player Nezih Yeşilnil, pianist and performer Şevket Uğurluer and mouth harmonica artist Ahmet Faik Şener.

American jazz artist Melody Gardot, who gave her first concert in Turkey as part of the Istanbul Jazz Festival in 2009, will delight many of her fans in our country in the 25th anniversary of the festival. Gardot, who created his own audience with his albums that won great success around the world, will be at Uniq Open Air Stage on Wednesday, June 27th.

Benjamin Clementine, who proved once again the shocking effect of his music with his second album, I Tell A Fly, which he released last year, will meet his fans on Thursday, July 5, at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Stage.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are coming

Australian artist Nick Cave, who has inspired many artists during his forty-five-year music career, and The Bad Seeds, an integral part of the artist's music career, will meet their Istanbul fans 17 years later. The concert will take place on July 10 at KüçükÇiftlik Park.

Caro Emerald, one of the most energetic voices in the music world since 2009, will be at Zorlu PSM Main Theater on Thursday, July 12. Among the names to be hosted by the festival are the giants of contemporary jazz Dave Holland, Zakir Hussain and Chris Potter, Avishai Cohen, who is among the indispensables of the jazz and classical music world today, and Fabrizio Bosso Quartet, which will provide an unforgettable jazz night at the Venice Palace.

Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters

The legendary voice of Led Zeppelin, one of the leading vocal and ensemble leaders in rock history, Robert Plant will be the guest of Istanbul Jazz Festival 11 years later. The concert where Plant will sing songs from his latest album, Carry Fire, accompanied by his band The Sensational Space Shifters, will be at Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Stage on Tuesday, July 17th.

The free "Jazz in the Parks" concerts and the "Night Walk", which will provide a festival experience within the festival on the Kadıköy-Moda line, will continue this year as well.

Tickets for the 25th Istanbul Jazz Festival can be purchased from the İKSV box office between 10.00-18.00 every day except Sunday, without Biletix sales channels and without a service fee.
