The 25th Istanbul Jazz Festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) under the sponsorship of Garanti Bank, continues with all its enthusiasm. Jazz in the Parks, one of the most popular events of the festival, will spread to different parts of the city for the first time this year, under the sponsorship of Vodafone Freezone, and will offer an open-air festival to music lovers in Beylikdüzü and Fenerbahçe.
Jazz in the Parks, organized under the sponsorship of Vodafone Freezone within the scope of the 25th Istanbul Jazz Festival, invites the residents of the city to a pleasant day that brings green and jazz together this year. All Istanbulites are invited to the free events that will be held at Beylikdüzü Yaşam Vadisi Park on Saturday, July 7, and at the Fenerbahçe Khalkedon Stage and Fenerbahçe Park Stage in Fenerbahçe Park on Sunday, July 8.
The opening of the events, which will start at 17.00 on both days, will be made by the Young Jazz groups who were entitled to perform at the festival as a result of the evaluations made in May.
Young Jazz, which has been continuing for 16 years as part of the Istanbul Jazz Festival, aims to create a platform for young musicians and ensembles under the age of 30 to take part in the festival program. Art Blakey Tribute Band, JmH, The Kites, Nar, Pelin Güneş Quartet and Portrait and A Dream ensembles, which were entitled to perform at the festival as a result of this year's evaluation, will perform as part of Jazz in the Parks.
Dutch band Koffie, who will take over the stage after the performances of the Young Jazz bands, will increase the tempo of the parks with their afropunk rhythms. Inspired by greats such as Fela Kuti, James Brown, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Miles Davis and The Roots, the team will close both Jazz in the Parks events.
At the closing of the Fenerbahçe Khalkedon Stage on Sunday, July 8, participants will enjoy the cinema under the stars. Directed by Damian Chazelle and starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, La La Land, which broke the all-time record in the history of the Oscars with 6 awards, can be watched outdoors at 21.00 with the contributions of Mastercard.
