Jazz time in the parks

Jazz in the Parks, the event of the Istanbul Jazz Festival that brings together green and jazz, will meet with Istanbulites this weekend in Beylikdüzü and Fenerbahçe.

Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) and sponsored by Garanti Bank, the 25th Istanbul Jazz Festival continues with all its enthusiasm. Jazz in the Parks, one of the most popular events of the festival, will spread to different parts of the city for the first time this year, with the sponsorship of Vodafone Freezone, to offer music lovers an open-air festival in Beylikdüzü and Fenerbahçe.

 Organized as part of the 25th Istanbul Jazz Festival, under the sponsorship of Vodafone Freezone, Jazz in the Parks invites the residents of the city to a joyful day that brings together green and jazz this year. All Istanbul residents are invited to the free events that will take place on Saturday, July 7 at the Beylikdüzü Yaşam Vadisi Park, and on Sunday, July 8 at Fenerbahçe Khalkedon Stage and Fenerbahçe Park Stage.

The opening of the events, which will start at 17.00 on both days, will be made by Young Jazz groups, who were entitled to take the stage at the festival as a result of the evaluations made in May.

Young Jazz, which has been going on for 16 years within the scope of the Istanbul Jazz Festival, aims to create a platform for young musicians and groups under the age of 30 where they can take part in the festival program. Art Blakey Tribute Band, JmH, The Kites, Nar, Pelin Güneş Quartet and Portrait and A Dream ensembles, which were entitled to perform at the festival as a result of the evaluation made this year, will take the stage as part of Jazz in the Parks.

Dutch band Koffie, who will take over the stage after the performances of Young Jazz bands, will increase the tempo of the parks with afropunk rhythms. Taking their inspiration from greats such as Fela Kuti, James Brown, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Miles Davis, The Roots, the team will close both Jazz in the Parks events.

At the closing of the Fenerbahçe Khalkedon Stage on Sunday, July 8, participants will enjoy the cinema under the stars. La La Land, directed by Damian Chazelle and starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, breaking the record of all time in the history of the Oscar Awards with 6 awards, can be watched outdoors at 21.00 with the contribution of Mastercard.
