At the Cannes Film Festival, which started on May 9 in Cannes, France, and is considered one of the most important events in the world of cinema, the Wild Pear Tree movie was the last film to be screened among the main category candidate films, consisting of 21 films in total.

The film crew walked on the red carpet before the screening and posed for nearly 4 thousand journalists and photojournalists watching the festival.

The team of the film, which included Ceylan, producer Zeynep Özbatur Atakan, screenwriter Ebru Ceylan, actors Doğu Demirkol, Murat Cemcir, Akın Aksu, Hazar Ergüçlü, Bennu Yıldırımlar, Serkan Keskin, Öner Erkan, Kubilay Tuncer, later joined many famous names. He attended the screening of the film at the Grand Theater Lumiere with his guests.
“This meeting impressed me very much”

The screening included names such as American actor and producer John Savage, French actor Sami Naceri, as well as well-known faces from the cinema and show world.

Answering the questions of the festival's broadcaster, Ceylan said that he had actually shot the same film so far and that he made some changes in each film and added new things to the story he told.

Ceylan, when asked about the story of the movie Wild Pear Tree, said, “I met a father, a teacher, in the city where I was born. “This meeting impressed me very much.” said

Ceylan, who competed in this year's competition as the only director to have previously received the Palme d'Or, has only won this award twice in the history of the festival.

He participated in the festival for the first time with the movie "Koza"

Ceylan attended the Cannes Film Festival for the first time as a contestant in 1995 with the movie Koza. Ceylan, whose films competing at the festival were deemed worthy of many awards in various categories, was awarded the Golden Palm Award in 2014 with his film Winter Sleep.

In the film starring Doğu Demirkol and Murat Cemcir, Ahmet Rıfat Şungar, Hazar Ergüçlü, Tamer Levent, Kadir Çermikli, Kubilay Tunçer and Ercüment Balakoğlu also accompany these names.

Ahlat Ağaç, which is about a writer returning to his village after many years and being crushed under his father's debts, focuses on father-son and family relations.

The script of the film was written by Akın Aksu, Ebru Ceylan and Nuri Bilge Ceylan, and the director of photography is Gökhan Tiryaki, with whom Ceylan has worked in many of his films.
