Yapı Kredi bomontiada will host German photographer Sven Marquardt's "NACHTBLENDE" exhibition between 9 - 26 November. The exhibition, organized in cooperation with Goethe-Institut Istanbul, can be visited every day between 10.00-19:00, except Mondays.
Photographer who became one of the important names followed by the art circles by leading the rise of punk and new wave movements in East Berlin from the mid-1980s. Sven Marquardt, exhibition inspired by Berlin's cultural atmosphere “NACHTBLENDE” meets art lovers for the first time in Turkey.
Yapı Kredi bomontiadaof Goethe-Institut Istanbul The “NACHTBLENDE” exhibition, which was realized in cooperation with the European Union, sheds light on the different series that Marquardt has created in Berlin, focusing on the club and subculture of the last 25 years. A selected work from 1987 in the exhibition, which consists of photographs of carefully selected people from the artist's circle of friends, colleagues and acquaintances, also reveals the East Berlin subculture.
Exhibition opening on November 9, DJ and producer Marcel DettmannIt will also feature an experimental live performance called SLIDE, which gives an insight into 's music career in recent years. This collaboration, which brings Marquardt and Dettmann together for the second time, focuses on the harmony between music and image, with photography and sound flowing together. This digital image composition, designed by visual artist Lars Murasch, will be exhibited in addition to the photographic works of Sven Marquardt.
Sven Marquardt, who took a break from photography after the fall of the Berlin Wall, returned to photography with his exhibitions that traveled around the world in the late 1990s. Marquardt, whose photographic works have been exhibited in many cities, especially Berlin, Belgrade, Sydney and New York, since 2015, also works for famous fashion magazines and fashion brands. Marquardt, who has been teaching at the OSTKREUZ School of Photography since 2015, also taught as a guest lecturer at the Polimoda International Fashion Design and Marketing Institute in Florence in 2019.
“NACHTBLENDE” The exhibition can be visited free of charge at Yapı Kredi bomontiada GALERi between 9-26 November, every day between 10.00 and 19.00, except Mondays.
